The particle voids of coal subsamples are related to coal grain size. With a decrease in coal grain size, P f varies slightly (Table 1). For FX subsamples, P f P f P f, D 1 is commonly less than 2 (Table 1), indicating that the pore structure does not present fractal characteristics. Additionally, the pore diameter is nearly greater than 10 μm. Coals are classified into three main ranks, or types: lignite, bituminous coal, and anthracite. These classifications are based on the amount of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen present in the coal. Coals other constituents include hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, ash, and sulfur.
